Call for Abstracts: Blockchain & Digital Transformation in Health 2020

The Austin Blockchain Collective and Dell Medical School are pleased to invite you to submit abstracts for presentation at the Blockchain and Digital Transformation in Health 2020 Symposium. The symposium is Feb. 26, 2020 at M2M Element in Austin, Texas. The deadline for abstract submission is Dec. 15, 2019. 

In a unique partnership between academia and industry, the Symposium is organized by the Austin Blockchain Collective and Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin. Austin is a hub of activity for blockchain companies, many of which are involved in health-related applications. The Austin Blockchain Collective represents this growing ecosystem of companies in Austin. The Dell Medical School and The University of Texas at Austin are exploring research questions related to the adoption, implementation and assessment of these technologies in health.

Academic Presentations

The full-day event will have tracks for academic/research presentations in addition to business and industry talks. The academic/research track will focus on exploring and sharing developments in transformative digital technologies like blockchain or distributed ledger technologies in health and clinical medicine. Abstracts may be based on original or previously published research, conceptual frameworks, proposed applications, position papers, case studies, and real world implementation. Selection will be based on a peer-review process. Faculty and students are encouraged to submit abstracts to present their ideas before an informed and knowledgeable audience of industry leaders, policy makers, funders, and researchers.

  • Notification of acceptance: Jan. 7, 2020

Publications

All accepted abstracts will be included in the proceedings of the Symposium and selected abstracts will be invited to submit complete manuscripts for review and publication. A separate category of student-led abstracts will also be considered for undergraduate and graduate students.

Please submit an abstract of 500 words or less about your work to the abstract selection committee via email to Anjum Khurshid, M.D., Ph.D., at anjum.khurshid@austin.utexas.edu with a subject line: Abstract for Blockchain and Digital Transformation in Health 2020 Symposium. Please also send a brief bio and headshot to be included in the program materials.
