Application Guidelines

On the behalf of the Dell Medical School, the Academy of Distinguished Educators invites applications for the Academy Excellence in Teaching Award. This award recognizes individual faculty members for an outstanding commitment to engaged teaching, education scholarship and leadership, as well as student success. The award is not limited to a specific number of faculty.
Eligibility and Application Requirements
Please note that this award is for regular and affiliate faculty of Dell Medical School
Past Dell Med Excellence in Teaching recipients can apply for the award under a new area of excellence
We invite faculty of all specialties and academic rank to apply. Applications can be entered by self or another faculty member. Below is a list of all the required documents (Please save the documents as follows: First initial, Last Name, Name of document. Example: T. Rhoads CV)
- CV in the Dell Med CV Template. Highlight accomplishments, including in service or research, that are relevant to your selected area of excellence (see below).
- Performance in Direct Teaching as assessed by Dell Med learner evaluations and peer observations from the past 3 years.
Please note learner evaluations include medical students, residents, fellows, and peers. - Excellence in Teaching Application
Complete the Application with description of major accomplishments in 1 of following 6 areas of excellence listed below:
- Curriculum, Faculty Development, CME, and Instructional Design
- Educational Scholarship and Educational Research
- Appropriate and Innovative Use of Technology
- Mentoring, Coaching, and Counseling
- Assessment
- Education Administration and Leadership
