Dell Medical School

HTRI Educational Offerings

This year-long course, developed in collaboration with Biomedical Data Science Hub, utilizes a mix of didactic and “flipped classroom” sessions and mentored lab exercises. Topics include epidemiology, study design, data computing, and biostatistics, all at an introductory level. Participants will learn to use statistical software to manage and analyze data, and to interpret basic statistical analyses in the clinical literature.

The target audience is Dell Med faculty and trainees who could benefit from learning about research design. This includes new-to-research faculty, early-career faculty, fellows and residents. By the end of the course, participants will have identified their own research question, developed a study design to answer that question and have the skills to manage and analyze the data collected during the course of their study. Participation in the “Nuts and Bolts” series complements the skills acquired in the “Ideas to Results” course. Learn more »
