White Coat Guidelines

Requirements

Right Breast

The following information, listed in this order, is required above the pocket on the right breast of the coat:

• Dell Med logo
• Name (formatting examples below)
• Department or Division (exclude "Department of" or "Division of")
  

Formatting Your Name

• Jane Doe, MD (First Name Last Name, Degree)
• Jane M. Doe, MD (First Name Middle Initial [period] Last Name, Degree)
• J. Marie Doe, MD (First Initial [period] Middle Name Last Name, Degree)
• J. M. Doe, MD (First Initial [period] Middle Initial [period] Last Name, Degree)

Left Breast

The left side is reserved for a partner logo, if applicable, or left blank. If a partner logo is applied, the top of the partner logo should align with the top of the Dell Med logo.

Exemptions

Any deviation from these requirements must be approved by Beth Nelson.

Additional Requirements for Students

1. Students may not list credentials or degrees.
2. Names are limited to 21 characters (including spaces and periods).
3. Information such as student, resident, etc. should not be listed on the coat. That information should be displayed on the badge or badge holder.
