B) From your Dashboard, click on “Create” at the top of the left menu, and “Create Agreement;”

C) Enter the Principal Investigator of the project, responsible department, and upload a copy of the draft agreement if you’ve received one from the collaborator. If you do not have an agreement, please check the box labeled “First draft to be generated internally;”

  • For a clinical trial agreement, include the contract, and any of the following that you have received: the protocol, informed consent/HIPAA authorization, and budget.

D) Add a brief title of the project under question #5 in Huron (note: UT OSP may change this title); and

E) Under question #6 in Huron, “Agreement type,” you will be asked to select the type of agreement for submission.

  • From this selection of contract or agreement type, custom questions will be generated based on the type of agreement.
  • Answer every question and include any requested attachments.
  • For your parent organization, please choose your academic department and not Dell Medical School.
  • Add your departmental contracts and/or administrative staff as collaborators so as to allow them access to the contract records.
  • For BAAs, please contact the Office of Research Contracts for specific guidance. Note: DUAs for UT and UTHA data should be submitted through Huron. DUAs for Seton data should be requested through Seton.
  • For DUAs from other sources or for projects that involve non-UT or non-UTHA data, please contact the Office of Research Contracts for specific guidance as there may be limitations on what DMS may execute a contract for.
  • For licensing agreements related to questionnaires or other agreements ancillary to your research project, please contact the Office of Research Contracts for specific guidance.
  • If you are receiving confidential data through an incoming Data Use Agreement, you may be asked to submit a Confidential Data Control Plan (CDCP). Your Contract Specialist will guide you through the proper steps for such a submittal. Find more information on CDCP’s here.

Please note that if Dell Medical School is holding the clinical trial agreement for a sponsored clinical trial, Seton-Ascension may require a material transfer agreement (MTA) between Seton and DMS. Please contact the Office of Research Contracts staff member processing your Clinical Trial Agreement to discuss the potential need for such MTA.
