Faculty Annual Evaluations

In alignment with UT System Regents Rules and University policy, the annual evaluation cycle occurs from November - March each year, and requires:

  • Regular faculty members must be evaluated annually.
  • Affiliate faculty are evaluated on a triennial evaluation cycle (every three years); this occurs concurrently with regular faculty evaluations from November to March each year.

Who do I contact with questions about annual evaluation?

The Office of Faculty Academic Affairs (OFAA) works with guidelines and requirements from UT Austin and Dell Medical School executive leadership to determine what questions and topics are included in evaluations each year. We also provide guidance on how to effectively evaluate academic productivity at the time of evaluation- see the 'Guidance to Evaluate Faculty Progress' section below.

Dell Med Human Resources (HR) administers the evaluation process each year in partnership with faculty affairs administrators across each department- see their intranet page for procedural guidance. Communication on departmental deadlines and instruction to complete annual evaluations will come from the department faculty affairs representative.
